Above the Wildflowers Ministries offers weekly Bible Study sessions on the Book of Proverbs. Our Bible Study sessions are in-depth in which we incorporate the understanding of the Hebrew language for the text, the historical context and the significant meanings of the proverbs. 

We follow the hermeneutics approach where we examine carefully and methodically, the text verse by verse and dissect it's theme(s) and meaning. We learn the (1) historical and cultural context, (2) the literary text and genre, (3) identify our observations through highlighting/marking and (4) draw application from the text to our personal lives. In addition, we learn the definitions of words in it's context and read complimentary scriptures from other books in the bible that affirm the intended verses.

We always pray before engaging in the text for the Holy Spirit to illuminate His word for us.

What day of the week are the Bible study sessions?

Bible Study sessions are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Are there any reading materials I need to purchase? 

The only reading material needed is a physical Bible. A study guide is printed out and provided for all attendees The study guide includes questions for individual and group reflection and discussion. It is encouraged to also bring a notebook and something to write with. 

Where are the Bible study sessions held?

Bible Study sessions are currently held in New Bedford, MA on Tuesdays and in Warren, RI on Fridays. 

How long are the Bible study sessions? 

The Bible study sessions start at 6:00pm and end at 9:00pm. During this time of fellowship, we check-in with one another, pray with and for one another, and reflect on the intended Bible verses and study guide questions for the week. While the Bible study sessions last 3 hours, if you can only commit for less time, that is absolutely okay! Whether it's an hour or two, you will find value in the sessions.

Is this Bible study for a specific age group?

Starting at age 12 and up!

Is there another location for these Bible study sessions? 

At this time, New Bedford, MA and Warren, RI are the only locations where the Bible study sessions are held. 

Is there cost to these Bible study sessions?

No cost at all!
